Job summary

EREA Flexible Schools Ltd in Gympie seeks a Kitchen Coordinator to prepare and provide healthy meals for students. The role reports to the Head of Campus and collaborates with all staff and students in a multidisciplinary campus team.

Experience in hospitality or as a chef/cook is highly desirable, with required First Aid and Food Safety certifications within the first months of employment. This is a stand-alone, 0.8 FTE position with a fixed-term contract.

• Food Handler Certificate and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate within first 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and provide healthy meals to the young people attending Gympie Flexible School.
• Share knowledge on safe food practices and assist with occasional campus utility tasks.

**Kitchen Coordinator: Gympie Flexible School** * TENURE: Fixed-term, Part-time, 0.8FTE* START DATE: 6 October 2026* END DATE: 30 October 2027* CLASSIFICATION: Services Staff 4 $73,331 - $75,637 **ABOUT THE ROLE**The Kitchen Coordinator will report directly to the Head of Campus and is expected to work collaboratively with all staff and young people in the school. The primary role of Kitchen Coordinator is a stand-alone role that will be required to prepare and provide healthy meals to the young people who attend Gympie Flexible School. **ABOUT YOU:**We are seeking someone who is organised, flexible and able to work independently while also contributing positively to a multidisciplinary campus team. Previous hospitality experience and/or relevant qualifications as a chef or cook are highly desirable, together with demonstrated experience in preparing healthy meals and an understanding of safe food preparation, storage and service.
