Job summary

The Queenscliff Hotel in Queenscliff, VIC, is seeking a reliable Kitchen Attendant to join our back-of-house team on a casual basis. You will support the culinary crew in a fast-paced environment at a beautifully restored, coastal landmark.

Key duties include dishwashing, basic food prep, and maintaining cleanliness and stock organization. This role offers weekend/evening shifts and growth within a premier hospitality operation.

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
• Physically able to lift items in a busy kitchen.
• Team player with flexible availability.
• Prior kitchen experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial dishwashers and pot washing.
• Clean crockery and glassware and return to service quickly.
• Assist chefs with basic food prep (chopping, peeling, portioning).
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, floors, surfaces and waste removal.
• Assist with stock deliveries and storage organization.

The Role

You will support our culinary team in maintaining a seamless kitchen operation. Key duties include:

• Operating industrial dishwashers and manual pot washing.
• Ensuring all crockery and glassware are cleaned and returned to service quickly.
• Assisting chefs with basic food prep (chopping, peeling, and portioning).
• Maintaining kitchen cleanliness, including floors, surfaces, and waste removal.
• Assisting with stock deliveries and storage organization.
