Allpress Espresso Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen All‑Rounder for a 6-month fixed-term contract in Sydney. You will prep ingredients, assemble fresh sandwiches, cook simple hot dishes, bake treats, and help with serving and cleaning to support a high‑quality café offering.

You’ll work closely with the Café Manager and National Kitchen Lead, rotating tasks and maintaining food safety, presentation, and guest experience across front and back of house.

Competenze

• Previous café, kitchen or hospitality experience.
• Confidence making sandwiches, preparing ingredients and cooking simple hot dishes.
• Friendly manner and willingness to serve customers.
• Strong food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards consistently.
• Good organisation and ability to manage several tasks during service.
• Willingness to share dishwashing, cleaning and general café duties.
• Availability for early mornings and weekends.
• Willingness to complete required food safety training.

About your new role

We're looking for a Kitchen All-Rounder to join our café team on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract. This is a varied, hands‑on role covering food preparation, cooking, baking and customer service. You’ll make fresh sandwiches, prepare and cook hot menu items, bake treats, occasionally serve customers and help keep the kitchen and café clean and organised.

You'll work closely with the Café Manager and National Kitchen Lead to deliver a quality food offering that complements our coffee. You’ll enjoy moving between tasks, take pride in what you serve and be happy to pitch in wherever needed, including washing dishes and supporting the floor.

A day in the life

A typical day could include:

• Preparing ingredients and making fresh sandwiches for the cabinet and service
• Preparing and cooking hot dishes to our recipes and presentation standards
• Baking and finishing sweet treats and bakery items
• Keeping the food display stocked, fresh and well presented
• Greeting customers, taking orders, operating the till and serving food
• Plating dishes, running food and clearing tables
• Washing dishes, cleaning equipment and keeping kitchen and service areas organised
• Following food safety procedures, including temperature checks, labelling, storage and allergen processes
• Receiving deliveries, rotating stock and helping minimise waste
• Working with the team to keep service running smoothly

About you

You enjoy preparing good food and looking after customers. You’re comfortable moving between the kitchen and front of house, and understand that preparation, service and cleaning all contribute to a great café experience.

You’re organised, reliable and confident working independently when required, while communicating well with the team during busy periods.

Must-haves

• Previous experience in a café, kitchen or similar hospitality role
• Confidence making sandwiches, preparing ingredients and cooking simple hot dishes
• A friendly manner and willingness to serve customers
• Strong food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards consistently
• Good organisation and the ability to manage several tasks during service
• Willingness to share dishwashing, cleaning and general café duties
• Availability for early mornings and weekends
• Willingness to complete required food safety training

Nice to have

• Baking or pastry experience
• Experience operating a till and taking customer orders
• Experience with stock control, ordering and waste management
• Current Food Safety Supervisor certification
• Interest in seasonal food, quality coffee and hospitality
