Job summary

Guardian Childcare & Education is seeking a Chef at Guardian Clayfield to design seasonal, nutritious menus and prepare meals for children and Educators. You will help create learning experiences around food, including garden foraging and hands-on cooking activities, in a safe, supportive environment.

You will collaborate with Educators and Teachers to integrate food into the learning journey, promoting healthy eating and social meals as part of daily routines.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Supervisor certificate
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or working towards is desirable.
• Awareness of personal responsibilities under the current Child Protection Laws
• Current Working with Children’s Check or state-specific equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop a seasonal, nutritious menu that respects medical conditions, dietary needs and cultural considerations.
• Ensure children's health and wellbeing.
• Build strong relationships with children, Educators, families and centre community.
• Uphold best practice food safety and hygienic standards.
