Job summary

Guardian Blackburn West is seeking a Chef to plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children and Educators, integrating food with learning experiences. You will collaborate with Educators to support children's health and development, and contribute to a safe, engaging kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include creating seasonal menus, ensuring food safety, and building strong relationships with families and the Centre community.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or working towards it.
• Awareness of responsibilities under current Child Protection Laws.
• Current Working with Children's Check or state equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop a seasonal, nutritious menu respecting medical, dietary, and cultural needs.
• Ensure children's health and wellbeing through safe, hygienic food practices.
• Build strong relationships with children, Educators and Centre families.
• Contribute to mealtimes and learning experiences through food preparation.
