Job summary

South Coast Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a Justice Support Worker to provide cultural mentoring, case support and community development across Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla and Bega Valley regions.

The role requires Aboriginality, a Certificate IV in Community Services or related area, and willingness to travel across the Far South Coast and Southern Tablelands with flexible hours. The position is based in Goulburn, NSW, with applications closing 8 October 2026.

South Coast Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation, providing Health and Wellbeing and relevant services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Shoalhaven area.

THE ROLE

The Justice Support Worker provides cultural mentoring, case support, and community development activities throughout the Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla and Bega Valley regions of Southern NSW including Southern Highlands & Tablelands, to support the aims of the Aboriginal Justice Reintegration Program (Ngudjoong Billa) program.

This position is located in our Goulburn office. Applications for the position close on Thursday 8th October 2026.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Aboriginality*.
• Certificate IV level qualifications in Community Services or related area and/or demonstrated experience in these sectors.
• Sound knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, relevant organisations and service providers in the Shoalhaven and far South Coast.
• Clear understanding of the needs of Aboriginal families and young people involved in the NSW criminal justice system.
• Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and awareness of the importance of Aboriginal cultural practices and protocols.
• Demonstrated experience in the delivery of mentoring, intensive casework or case management services.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Office applications, client information and data systems.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people from a variety of backgrounds.
• Current Working with Children Check, National Police History Check and Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
• Current Driver's License and the willingness to travel overnight, work flexible hours and across different locations within the local service area (Far South Coast and Southern Tablelands).
• Preferred applicants will also be required to undergo a National Police Check and obtain a new paid employee Working with Children Check (as required by the Act) prior to appointment with South Coast Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation.

Salary will be in accordance with the South Coast Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation Enterprise Agreement.
