Job summary

South Coast Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a Justice Support Worker to provide cultural mentoring, case support and community development across Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla and Bega Valley regions.

The role requires Aboriginality, a Certificate IV in Community Services or related area, and willingness to travel across the Far South Coast and Southern Tablelands with flexible hours. The position is based in Goulburn, NSW, with applications closing 8 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Aboriginality is a genuine occupational requirement and a condition of appointment.
• Certificate IV level qualification in Community Services or related area.
• Sound knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and local service providers.
• Understanding of needs of Aboriginal families and young people involved in the NSW criminal justice system.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal cultural practices and protocols.
• Experience in mentoring, intensive casework or case management.
• Competence with Microsoft Office and client information systems.
• Willingness to travel across the local service area and work flexible hours.
• Driver's Licence and ability to travel overnight.

Responsibilities

• Provide cultural mentoring and case support across Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla and Bega Valley regions.
• Support community development activities aligned with the Ngudjoong Billa program.
• Assist in delivering the Aboriginal Justice Reintegration Program aims across southern NSW.
