Job summary

BlueScope Building Components’ Design Solutions Group in Minchinbury is seeking a Junior Design Engineer. You will prepare concept-level structural designs showing how our products fit buildings, while learning from a dedicated senior mentor.

You’ll work with a national team of engineers and BDMs on projects from data centres to hospitals, with varied structural requirements and close guidance as you progress.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Practical experience designing building structures.
• Ability to develop structural calculations and technical docs.
• Good communication and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare concept-level structural schemes from briefs.
• Develop calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
• Investigate design issues and explore alternatives.
• Use design tools like RAPT, Strand7, Space Gass, Bluebeam.
• Coordinate with state-based engineers to meet deadlines.
