Job summary

BlueScope Building Components’ Design Solutions Group seeks a Junior Design Engineer in Minchinbury. You will work with a senior mentor to develop capability in steel and composite structures across diverse projects.

You’ll collaborate with a national team of BDMs and engineers, contributing to data centres, hospitals, and major buildings. A degree in civil/structural engineering is required, with hands-on design and calculations experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or structural engineering required.
• Experience designing building structures within structural consulting preferred.
• Ability to prepare structural calculations and technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare concept-level structural schemes from briefs.
• Develop structural calculations, drawings and technical docs.
• Investigate design problems and explore practical options.
• Use design tools as part of project work (RAPT, Strand7, Space Gass, Bluebeam).
• Clarify requirements with engineers and deliver designs on time.
• Manage multiple design tasks across project stages.
