Asta Solutions in Melbourne is seeking a Junior Software Developer who is eager to grow and take on new challenges. You will work with our Software Development Team to support development, testing and ongoing improvement of software solutions for clients.

This entry-level role offers hands-on experience across technologies, collaboration with experienced developers, and learning opportunities in AI development practices, testing, and releases while adhering to security and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Practical software development experience through employment, internships or substantial projects.
• Familiarity with TypeScript/React or C#/.NET, and willingness to learn across our stack.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, relational databases, web applications, APIs and Git.
• Ability to read existing code, investigate problems and explain changes.
• Understanding of testing principles and an interest in automated testing.
• Willingness to learn approved AI development practices and critically check the results.
• Exposure to Azure or AWS is desirable, but not essential

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining features, integrations and bug fixes
• Understanding customer requirements and investigating software issues
• Writing tests and checking changes meet agreed requirements
• Submitting code for review, explaining changes and applying feedback
• Using approved AI development tools responsibly and verifying generated changes
• Maintaining documentation and supporting releases with guidance from the team
• Communicating progress and blockers, and following security and client confidentiality practices
