Job summary

Cairns Hardware in Cairns invites school students to join our Trade and Paint Centre to work at the hardware counter helping customers. You’ll chat with tradies, builders or DIYers, asking the right questions to make their visit easy and friendly.

You’ll need to be 15 years old, still at school, available for afternoons, weekends and school holidays. Training will be on the job, with product training from leading brands, stock handling, and a tidy, safe store environment.

Qualifications

• Bring a positive attitude and are keen to have a go.
• Likes working with people and being part of a team.
• Can communicate clearly and respectfully.
• Are reliable, shows up on time and takes responsibility.
• Open to learning about products, systems and how the store runs.
• Physically able to safely lift and move stock when needed.
• Cares about safety and looks out for team members, customers and visitors.
