Tropical Auto Group is hiring an entry-level Parts Interpreter to learn parts identification, sourcing and supply for customers and workshop technicians. You will train with experienced interpreters in catalogues and systems, building a long-term career in automotive parts.

You'll join our parts team as an entry-level Parts Interpreter, learning to identify, source and supply the right parts for our customers and workshop technicians. You'll work alongside experienced interpreters who will train you in catalogues, systems and parts knowledge. This is a great starting point for a long-term career in the automotive, heavy vehicle, agricultural or equipment industry.
Serve customers at the counter, by phone and by email, and help identify the parts they need
Use electronic parts catalogues, diagrams and VIN/serial number lookups to identify parts, with guidance from senior staff
Process quotes, sales orders, invoices and returns accurately in the parts system
Supply parts to workshop technicians and assist with job-card allocations
Receive incoming stock, check it against delivery documents and put it away in the correct locations
Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch or customer collection
Assist with stocktakes, cycle counts and keeping the parts department clean and organised
Follow up backorders and supplier enquiries as directed
Build knowledge of product ranges, part numbering, supersessions and cross-references
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling
Genuine interest in vehicles, machinery or mechanical components
Good communication and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers and part codes
Basic computer skills (email, data entry, navigating software)
Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions
Willingness to work in a team and take feedback
Previous experience in retail, warehousing or a parts environment (desirable)
Mechanical aptitude or a trade-related background (desirable)
Experience with a dealer management or inventory system (desirable)
Current driver's licence (desirable)
Full training in parts identification, systems and industry knowledge
Support towards formal qualifications
