Qualifications

• Recent graduate or up to three years of experience in mechanical, manufacturing, mechatronics or production engineering.
• Experience creating SOPs, work instructions, or technical documentation.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Experience with CAD drawings or engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain manufacturing booklets for production products and assemblies.
• Develop visual work instructions incorporating photos, diagrams and process flows.
• Document production processes, tooling requirements, equipment settings, and quality checkpoints.
• Capture manufacturing knowledge from operators, supervisors, engineers, and quality personnel.
• Assist in developing SOPs, process instructions, and training materials.
• Maintain document revision control and release documentation.
• Support quality and traceability requirements across manufacturing operations.
• Assist with continuous improvement projects and process optimisation initiatives.
• Roll out standardised manufacturing documentation across multiple production facilities.

Junior Manufacturing Documentation Engineer

Armor Australia is a leading Australian designer and manufacturer of ballistic protection systems for military, law enforcement, and security applications. We design and manufacture advanced hard armour plates, soft armour systems, vehicle protection solutions, and specialist defence products for customers in Australia and around the world.

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Manufacturing Engineer to help capture, improve, and standardise our manufacturing processes.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career engineer who enjoys working closely with production teams and creating clear, structured documentation. This role will report to the quality lead.

You will work alongside our Production, Quality, and R&D teams to develop manufacturing booklets, work instructions, and training materials that support efficient and repeatable production.

No prior ballistic or defence industry experience is required. We are looking for someone who is organised, technically minded, and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain manufacturing booklets for production products and assemblies.
• Develop visual work instructions incorporating photographs, diagrams, and manufacturing process flows.
• Document production processes, tooling requirements, equipment settings, and quality checkpoints.
• Capture manufacturing knowledge directly from operators, supervisors, engineers, and quality personnel.
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), process instructions, and training materials.
• Maintain document revision control and release documentation.
• Support quality and traceability requirements across manufacturing operations.
• Assist with continuous improvement projects and process optimisation initiatives.
• Support the rollout of standardised manufacturing documentation across multiple production facilities.

About You

You may be a recent graduate or have up to three years of experience in:
