Job summary

SJ Transport Services Pty Ltd trading as A & J Car Rentals is seeking an ICT Business Analyst in the Melbourne area to support the ongoing analysis, development and improvement of its business systems and operational processes.

The successful candidate will work with management and staff to document requirements, focus on booking and reservation systems, and help translate needs into practical ICT solutions that enhance data accuracy and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Information Technology or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum one year of relevant professional work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to gather, analyse and document business and system requirements and translate operational requirements into practical ICT solutions.
• Sound knowledge of business process analysis, workflow mapping, functional specifications, system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Responsibilities

• Liaise with management, rental staff, fleet personnel and administrative users to identify, analyse and document business and ICT system requirements relating to vehicle bookings, reservations, rental transactions, customer records, fleet information and operational reporting.
• Analyse existing business processes, procedures, work practices and system workflows to identify inefficiencies, information gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Review existing booking, reservation, fleet management and administrative systems and recommend practical improvements to system functionality and business processes.
• Translate business requirements into functional requirements, system specifications, user stories, workflow documentation and acceptance criteria for ICT service providers and developers.
• Develop business process maps, workflow diagrams and data models to document how booking, customer, rental, fleet and operational information is captured, processed and reported.
• Liaise with management, system users, software developers and external ICT providers to clarify business requirements and support the design and configuration of suitable ICT solutions.
• Analyse the flow and integration of data between vehicle reservations, customer records, fleet availability, rental transactions and management reporting systems to improve data accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare and undertake system testing and User Acceptance Testing, including developing test scenarios, recording results, identifying system defects and confirming that solutions meet documented business requirements.
• Support the implementation and deployment of new or modified ICT systems and processes, including data validation, system configuration checks, user support and post-implementation review.
• Prepare and maintain system documentation, user guides, procedures and training materials and collect user feedback to identify opportunities for further system and process improvements.
