Job summary

Motion Recruitment in Adelaide is seeking a Junior FPGA/Embedded Software Engineer to join a growing engineering team. You’ll work across FPGA design, embedded C/C++ software, and real-time systems on advanced electronic products developed locally and for global markets.

The role features a full development lifecycle, from concept through testing to production, with a collaborative environment and flexible arrangements within an Adelaide-based team.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 1-3 years' commercial experience in FPGA and/or embedded software development.
• Strong FPGA development experience using VHDL and/or Verilog.
• Experience developing embedded software in C/C++.
• Solid understanding of digital design, signal processing and real-time embedded systems.
• Experience implementing Linux drivers and network stacks for FPGA-based systems.
• Exposure to Embedded Linux, RTOS, firmware development, or experience within regulated industries such as medical devices, defence or aerospace will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop FPGA solutions using VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog.
• Develop embedded software in C/C++ for hardware platforms.
• Integrate hardware and software across complex embedded systems.
• Carry out simulation, verification and validation activities.
• Support new product development from concept through to production.
• Investigate and resolve hardware and embedded software issues.
• Participate in design reviews, technical documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
