Job summary

SITECH Construction Systems, the Trimble heavy construction distributor for Eastern and Central Australia, is hiring a Junior Field Service Technician to join our Townsville team. This full-time, permanent role trains you to install and support Trimble machine control systems across customer sites and remote locations.

You will shadow senior technicians, perform installations and repairs, document support cases in the CRM, and travel long distances as needed.

Qualifications

• Formal trade qualification not required.
• Hands-on support role experience with trades assistants on worksites.
• Willingness to drive long distances and work in remote environments.
• Interest in learning Trimble products and machine control systems.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and assist senior Technicians in installation processes, QA, welding, calibration and commissioning.
• Install and repair Trimble machine control systems on customer machinery.
• Provide first-line and advanced product support for Trimble systems remotely and on-site.

Trimbleoffers a range of GNSS and UTS machine control systems to suit graders, excavators, dozers, scrapers, compactors and more.Trimble machine control systems provide guidance to the operator to comply with a 3D model in civil construction and mining.

About the role

This is a full-time, permanent employment opportunity for a Junior Field Service Technicianto join our team in Townsville.

You will be trained to install and provide support for products across the Trimble machine control systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Shadow and assist senior Technicians in the entire installation process including quality assurance of products, third party welding, calibration, and commissioning
• Installation and repair of Trimble machine control systems on customer machinery
• Provide first-line and advanced product support for Trimble systems (e.g., Siteworks, Earthworks, productivity tools) remotely and on-site
• Document support cases and site work in the CRM

About you

A formal trade qualification is not required. All you need is practical exposure to a hands‑on support role (i.e. Trade Assistant) that assists qualified tradespeople with day‑to‑day tasks on worksites.

Additionally, you are able to drive long distances, working in remote environment,consistent with the location of most customer sites.

You will bring a can-do attitude and excellent customer service skills alongside an interest in learning Trimble products and machine control systems.
