Job summary

Position Partners is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to install, commission, and maintain machine control and site technology across Queensland. Based in Archerfield, you will work closely with customers, operators and project teams to ensure solutions perform reliably in the field.

You will diagnose issues, conduct preventive maintenance, provide training and support, and travel throughout the region with a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• Hands-on problem solver with technology focus.
• Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical systems.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence is required.
• Experience with machine control, surveying equipment, or GPS positioning is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain machine control and site technology solutions.
• Configure and calibrate equipment for optimal performance and accuracy.
• Support 2D and 3D machine control systems, payload weighing, and safety technologies.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, and inspections of equipment.
• Provide product training and technical support to customers.
• Offer onsite, workshop, remote, and phone-based support as needed.
• Build strong customer relationships through excellent service and technical expertise.
• Complete service documentation, reports, and installation records accurately and on time.
• Travel throughout Queensland supporting customer projects with a fully maintained company vehicle.

Field Service Technician Archerfield, QLD

This is a hands-on field-based role responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining, and supporting advanced machine control and site solutions across a wide range of customer projects.

Working closely with customers, operators, and project teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring technology solutions are installed correctly, performing reliably, and delivering maximum value in the field.

No two days are the same. One day you could be installing 3D machine control systems on construction equipment, the next troubleshooting technology onsite, training customers, or supporting major infrastructure projects across QLD.

Key responsibilities include:

• Install, commission, and maintain machine control and site technology solutions
• Configure and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy
• Support 2D and 3D machine control systems, payload weighing, and safety technologies
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical, electrical, and system-related issues
• Conduct preventative maintenance, servicing, and equipment inspections
• Deliver product training and technical support to customers
• Provide onsite, workshop, remote, and phone-based support when required
• Build strong customer relationships through exceptional service and technical expertise
• Complete service documentation, reports, and installation records accurately and on time
• Travel throughout Queensland supporting customer projects and site requirements (fully maintained company vehicle)

About You

You are a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working with technology, building customer relationships, and delivering practical solutions in the field.

You bring:

• Trade qualifications as an Auto Electrician, Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Light Vehicle Mechanic, or similar (highly regarded)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills
• Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and willingness to learn new technologies
• Current Australian Driver's Licence

Experience with machine control systems, heavy equipment, construction technology, surveying equipment, or GPS positioning solutions will be highly regarded.
