Job summary

Barro Group, via Flintstones Building & Garden Supplies in Victoria, is seeking a Junior Residential Steel Reinforcing Estimator in Donnybrook to start a long-term career in estimating and residential construction.

You will assist with preparing reinforcing steel estimates, material take-offs and quotations, process orders, maintain files, track documentation and support scheduling and project coordination, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration, customer service, estimating, construction or reinforcing steel is highly regarded but not essential.
• Strong numerical and evaluative skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter customer, sales and project information into company systems.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated Junior Residential Steel Reinforcing Estimator to join our team in Donnybrook.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in estimating and residential construction.

Working alongside an experienced team, you will assist with preparing reinforcing steel estimates, material take-offs and quotations for residential building projects. You will also provide administrative support by processing orders, maintaining job files, tracking documentation and assisting with scheduling and project coordination.

Full theoretical and practical training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
• Prepare reinforcing steel estimates, material take-offs and quotations under guidance.
• Enter customer, sales and project information into company systems.
• Process orders and maintain accurate and up-to-date job files.
• Respond to routine customer enquiries and estimate requests.
• Assist with supplier correspondence, amendments and job details.
• Support processed-bar ordering, scheduling and fulfilment.
• Assist with pod allocation and related project coordination.
• Work closely with customers, sales, estimating and operations teams.
• Monitor job progress and report errors, risks or delays.
• Refer technical, scope-related or complex matters to the appropriate team member.
• Provide general estimating and administrative support as required.
