Job summary

G. James Glass and Aluminium is seeking a Junior Residential Estimator to join our Riverview branch. You will start with hands-on training to understand estimating principles and learn to interpret customer requirements for residential and commercial projects.

We support development, use V6 software, and work with our sales teams to deliver accurate quotations and timely orders. This is a full-time, permanent role with career growth opportunities within an Australian family-owned business.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of the National Construction Code and Australian Standards relating to windows and doors.
• Confident communicating with home-owners, builders and business leaders.
• Strong attention to detail with multi-tasking and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Build understanding of estimating principles through hands-on training.
• Interpret customer requirements and standards to assist with product selection and installation methodology.
• Read plans and complete basic quantity take-offs for quoting.
• Prepare accurate and timely quotations and orders using V6 software (training provided).
• Collaborate with sales teams to support relationships and smooth project delivery.
• Engage in customer follow-up to progress quotations to finalised sales.

The Role

• Build a strong understanding of estimating principles through hands‑on training and guidance
• Learn to interpret customer requirements, relevant standards and specifications to assist with accurate product selection & installation methodology.
