Job summary

Samsung C&T Corporation Australia’s Renewable Energy Unit in Sydney seeks a Junior Electrical Estimator to support cost estimation for construction projects. You will analyse drawings, tender documents, and material costs while assisting the senior team with feasibility assessments.

You will gain exposure to estimating software and BIM, develop strong numeracy and Excel skills, and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify specifications.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Building, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail with complex data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and common office tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• You can work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Interest in the construction industry and developing estimating expertise.
• Strong organisational skills and multi-project management.
• Desirable familiarity with estimating software or BIM.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects using estimating software and industry-standard tools
• Analysing project drawings, specifications and tender documents to identify scope and requirements
• Researching and sourcing material and labour costs from suppliers and subcontractors
• Assisting in the compilation of tender submissions and bid documentation
• Communicating with project managers, architects and clients to clarify project details and specifications
• Maintaining accurate records and databases of historical cost data and estimating information
• Supporting the senior estimating team with project analysis and feasibility assessments
• Learning and applying company estimating procedures and methodologies
