Job summary

Page Group Australia is seeking an Electrical Estimation Manager in Sydney to own and grow the estimation department. Lead cost estimation for power transmission and renewable energy projects, mentor junior estimators, and drive value engineering through a strong pipeline of work.

The role focuses on accurate budgeting, drawing interpretation, and timely reporting to support bid decisions. This permanent, full-time position offers an on-site role in Sydney with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Strong background in electrical estimation within the energy industry (Transmission substation and renewable energy).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and project specifications.
• Expertise in cost analysis and budgeting for large-scale projects.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in software and tools for estimation and project management.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to accuracy in estimations.
• Leadership, coaching and mentoring capabilities to grow the division.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for electrical projects within the energy industry.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather necessary project information.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options.
• Prepare and present estimation reports to support decision-making processes.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of costs for materials, labour, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations during the estimation process.
• Support the project team during bid negotiations and contract finalisations.
• Help the organisation to grow, coach and mentor other estimators across multiple disciplines.
