Job summary

Everglades Country Club on the NSW Central Coast invites applications for a Commis Chef. You'll work with the kitchen team across Nine Restaurant & Bar, Vibes Alfresco, functions and Club events, building skills under experienced chefs.

Ideal for someone who has completed an apprenticeship or Commercial Cookery qualification and is looking to advance. You will gain hands-on experience in busy service, food safety and presentation, while contributing to a supportive kitchen.

Qualifications

• Completed an apprenticeship or Commercial Cookery qualification.
• In the early stages of your career as a qualified chef.
• Solid basic cooking, food preparation and knife skills.
• Reliable, punctual and well organised.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Pride in the quality and presentation of your food.
• Comfortable working in a busy commercial kitchen.
• Available to work a flexible roster including evenings and weekends.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Understands food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness requirements.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking food across various sections of the kitchen.
• Completing mise en place and preparing ingredients for service.
• Supporting senior chefs during busy lunch and dinner services.
• Following recipes, portioning and presentation standards.
• Maintaining consistent food quality and presentation.
• Following food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area.
• Assisting with stock rotation, storage and kitchen organisation.
• Working effectively as part of the kitchen team.
• Continuing to develop your skills under the guidance of experienced senior chefs.
