Job summary

Kia Australia is seeking a Junior Accountant to support the Accounting Manager across core finance functions, ensuring records are accurate and compliant. The role involves day-to-day finance tasks, journal entries, and reconciliations within a collaborative team environment.

The position also covers budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and acting as a finance business partner for departments, with opportunities to drive process improvements and reporting automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP) is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Good time management and approachable with internal/external parties.

Responsibilities

• Handling day-to-day finance functions, including internal reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform expense analysis and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist in budgeting and monthly forecasting.
• Act as finance business partner for departments.
• Assist in implementing best practice control processes and reporting automation.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Provide support for financial accounting duties when required.

About The Role:

In this role, you will support the Accounting Manager in various areas in accordance with the company's terms of business. You will also ensure that the financial records of the business meet the highest levels of accuracy and integrity.

Key Accountabilities:

• Handling day-to-day finance functions, including internal reporting and reconciliation processes
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Assist in preparation of budgeting and monthly forecast
• Act as finance business partner for departments
• Assist in the implementation of company best practice control processes and reporting automation
• Supporting internal and external audit
• Support for financial accounting duties when required
