Job summary

Kelly & Associates in Geelong invites a Junior Accountant to join our thriving accounting practice. You’ll work alongside experienced accountants and gain hands-on exposure across a broad client base.

Your day-to-day includes preparing tax returns, BAS/IAS lodgments, bookkeeping in cloud software, assisting with financial statements, SMSF compliance, and client communications. Degree in accounting and Xero familiarity preferred; CA/CPA pathway encouraged.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting completed or near completion.
• Experience in an accounting or bookkeeping environment.
• Working knowledge of Xero.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Clear communication and client service orientation.
• Willingness to learn and grow within public practice.
• Working towards CA or CPA qualification is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Preparing individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns.
• Preparing and lodging BAS and IAS.
• Processing bookkeeping and reconciliations in cloud accounting software.
• Assisting with financial statements and year-end work.
• Supporting superannuation and SMSF compliance.
• Communicating with clients and the ATO.
• Contributing to a wide variety of client projects and working collaboratively with our team.

The role
