Job summary

Trak Recruiting is supporting a well‑established Australian retail and fashion group seeking a Designer / Product Developer for Jewellery in Alexandria, Sydney. You will shape seasonal ranges across accessories, blending creative product development with commercial thinking to drive sales and margins.

Work closely with the Category Manager to build brand collections, manage supplier relationships and present inspiring range directions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and curate seasonal product ranges from concept through to completion.
• Design unique products and source commercially relevant items to build brand collections.
• Research trends, materials, colours, styles and new product opportunities.
• Develop differentiated ranges reflecting each brand's personality and customer.
• Work with suppliers on product development, samples, pricing and execution.
• Negotiate supplier costs to achieve target margins and retail price expectations.
• Create and maintain detailed product range plans.
• Support brand presentations, inspiration boards and seasonal range direction.
• Monitor sales, margins, budgets, KPIs and range performance.
• Use market and sales insights to influence future product development.
• Collaborate with planning to introduce new product injections during the season.
• Partner with stakeholders to develop broader brand and product strategies.
• Contribute to special projects across accessories, gifting and jewellery.

The Role

Working closely with the Category Manager, you will play a key role in shaping seasonal product ranges across accessories, including soft accessories, gifting and jewellery. You will combine creative product development with strong commercial thinking to ensure each range is relevant to its customer, aligned to the brand and ultimately delivers strong sales and margin.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and curating seasonal product ranges from concept through to completion
• Designing unique products and sourcing commercially relevant products to build complete brand collections
• Researching emerging trends, materials, colours, styles and new product opportunities
• Developing differentiated ranges that reflect the individual personality and customer of each brand
• Working closely with suppliers on product development, samples, custom designs, pricing and execution
• Negotiating supplier costs to achieve target margins and retail price expectations
• Creating and accurately maintaining detailed product range plans
• Supporting brand presentations, inspiration boards and seasonal range direction
• Monitoring sales, margins, budgets, KPIs and overall range performance
• Using market, customer and sales insights to identify opportunities and influence future product development
• Working closely with the planning team to introduce new product injections throughout the season and keep ranges fresh and relevant
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop broader brand and product strategies
• Contributing to special projects across accessories, gifting and jewellery

About You

We're looking for someone who is creative, commercially minded and passionate about accessories, with the ability to turn trends and ideas into products that customers want to buy.

You will ideally have experience within fashion, accessories, product development, buying, sourcing or retail, with a strong understanding of the product lifecycle and commercial retail environment.

You'll bring:
