Job summary

Tank Stream Design on the Gold Coast is seeking a creative, hands-on Senior Designer to spearhead our Women's Hat range. Working with Brand Manager, you will research trends, direct seasonal prints, and lead the design and development from initial sketch to global store shelves.

You will champion sustainability across ranges, drive the product lifecycle, and mentor team members in a fast-growing international business with a Gold Coast lifestyle.

Responsibilities

• Trend Hunt: Travel locally and internationally to scout trends and build mood boards.
• Create & Execute: Design innovative, on-brand collections aligned with the brand.
• Lead Prints: Oversee print sourcing and execution with print houses and graphic teams.
• Drive Development: Build technical design packs and manage lifecycle from prototype to final sample.
• Own the Process: Manage critical path to meet timelines, margins, and FOB costs.
• Source & Innovate: Develop fabrics, washes, trims, hardware, and sustainable options.
• Foster Culture: Mentor team members and maintain a collaborative, positive culture.

The Role

We are seeking a creative, 'hands-on' Senior Designer to spearhead our Women's Hat range. Working collaboratively with our Brand Manager, you will research trends, direct stunning seasonal prints, and lead the design and development process from initial sketch to global store shelves.

You will also champion our green footprint, finding innovative ways to drive positive social, ethical, and environmental change across our ranges.

What You'll Do

Trend Hunt: Travel locally and internationally to scout the latest global trends and build seasonal inspiration mood boards.

Create & Execute: Design innovative, functional, fashionable on-brand collections. Align with Brand Manager to co-own categories.

Lead Prints: Collaborate with print houses and graphic teams to oversee print sourcing and execution for seasonal headwear and accessories.

Drive Development: Build comprehensive technical design packs for vendors. Manage the product lifecycle from initial prototype to final approved pp sample, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional quality.

Own the Process: Manage your critical path to hit company timelines, ensuring designs fit target margins and FOB costs.

Source & Innovate: Develop quality fabrications, washes, trims, hardware, and branding, while aggressively pursuing sustainable alternatives.

Foster Culture: Lead by example with flexibility, mentoring team members, and driving a positive, collaborative environment.

What You Bring

Experience: 5+ years as a Senior Designer in the apparel or accessory industry, with a proven track record of bringing products to market.

Tech Skills: Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (PLM experience is a bonus).

Global Savvy: Experience travelling for research and working on the ground with international factories on sampling and cost negotiations.

Mindset: A 'can-do' outlook, exceptional multitasking skills, and a vibrant, team-first personality.
