Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Australia is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design and implement robust solutions across platforms. You will break down requirements into actionable tasks, automate build/test/deploy, and collaborate with customers to deliver scalable microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Applicants should have advanced Java, experience with API gateways, and DevOps tooling.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Java is essential.
• Experience with API/Microservices using Spring Boot.
• Hands-on container orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker.
• DevOps tools: Bamboo, Jira, BitBucket/GitLab, SonarQube, Veracode.
• Australian Citizenship and NV1 or higher Government Security Clearance required.
• Strong teamwork and multi-project management.
• Relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse.
• Kafka and ActiveMQ experience.

Acting as the software engineer of the group to perform design and implementation tasks for our various platforms. Main accountabilities are:

• Design and implement robust software solutions across multiple platforms with high-quality, well-tested code.
• Conduct code reviews and maintain codebases efficiently to ensure long-term stability and performance.
• Break down product requirements into actionable user stories and tasks, contributing to roadmap planning.
• Automate build, test, and deployment workflows to streamline delivery.
• Research emerging technologies and contribute to innovation within the team.
• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver feasible technical solutions.
• Produce clear technical documentation and support cross-functional initiatives with expert guidance.
• Identify, resolve, and/or escape all issues that threaten the successful delivery of assigned initiatives.

About You

• Advanced proficiency in Java is essential.
• Proficiency in Golang is highly advantageous.
• Strong experience in developing and deploying API/Microservices using frameworks like Spring Boot.
• Proven ability to decode and process high-performance network protocols.
• Familiarity with API gateways such as WSO2 or NGINX is highly advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools including Bamboo, Jira, BitBucket/GitLab, SonarQube, and Veracode.
• Australian Citizenship and NV1 or higher Government Security Clearance required.
• Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple projects effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a tight-knit team environment.
• Experience working with container technologies such as Docker and associated orchestration engines like Kubernetes.
• Good working knowledge with relational and non-relational database backends such as MySQL, MongoDB, Clickhouse etc
• Experience working with messaging systems like Kafka and ActiveMQ
