Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads’ RoadTek on the Gold Coast is seeking a Technical Officer (ITS) to provide specialist technical support for ITS installation, maintenance, testing and commissioning in real-world settings.

You will work with electricians and field crews to deliver safe, reliable road infrastructure, contribute to emerging transport technologies, and engage with stakeholders to meet project outcomes while upholding departmental standards and safety.

Qualifications

• Current Queensland C class driver's licence or equivalent.
• White Card - General Construction Induction.
• Diploma of Engineering (Electrical, Electronic) or equivalent.
• Restricted Electrical Licence (minimum licences 1, 2, 3 and 5), or to obtain within six months of commencement in accordance with role requirements.
• Ability to undertake travel as required throughout the operational area and across the state.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining and testing ITS equipment in line with departmental specifications and compliance requirements.
• Providing technical advice and support for the planning, design, construction, testing and commissioning of ITS applications and traffic management systems.
• Supporting the successful delivery of ITS projects while ensuring quality, safety and stakeholder expectations are met.
• Assisting with the integration of new and emerging transport technologies used to improve road network operations and safety.
• Leading and supporting field crews while developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
