Job summary

Glenelg Shire Council in Portland is seeking an Information Systems Officer to join our Information Technology team. You will support the systems and services that keep the council running, work across the helpdesk and support staff, and contribute to technology projects.

You’ll be involved in developing reports, maintaining Microsoft 365, and supporting council applications, with opportunities to build skills across IT and information services.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of IT, information systems and Microsoft 365.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused approach and ability to explain technology clearly.
• Good organisation and ability to juggle competing priorities.
• Attention to detail when managing systems, data and documentation.
• Initiative, curiosity and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Experience with managing and supporting an IT helpdesk.
• Experience in system administration, information systems and corporate reporting will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT helpdesk support and resolve user issues.
• Support staff and maintain Microsoft 365 and other systems.
• Support Council applications and develop reports.
