Job summary

UNSW, based in Kensington with a transition to Randwick, seeks a Project Manager to lead IT workstreams in the BOS program. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors and stakeholders to ensure delivery aligns with governance standards and strategic outcomes.

You will translate strategic goals into structured delivery plans, navigate cloud and integration challenges, and contribute to benefits realization while reporting to the Senior PMO Lead.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications with a focus on Project Management in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years managing IT projects across the full lifecycle within large, matrixed enterprise environments, with exposure to cloud architectures and systems integration.
• Strong familiarity with modern software development lifecycles, API ecosystems, testing frameworks, and IT governance protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end planning and implementation of assigned IT and technology workstreams, collaborating with enterprise architects, software engineers, vendors, and business SMEs to ensure aligned execution.
• Define workstream scope, deliverables, and milestones with detailed delivery plans, resource forecasts, and budget oversight across complex software initiatives.
• Oversee technology vendors, system integrators, and software suppliers, managing contractual deliverables, SLAs, expenditures and dependencies.
• Identify and mitigate technical, delivery, physical, and psychosocial risks, ensuring alignment with UNSW IT governance and cybersecurity principles.
• Facilitate engagement between technical teams, business operations and academic stakeholders to support system transitions, testing, QA and benefits realization.
• Provide high-quality technical advice, status reporting, and risk insights to project leadership for effective decision-making.
