At Hullbot, we're on a mission to decarbonise the global maritime industry.
We're delivering autonomous underwater robots that inspect and clean ship hulls. Hullbot's systems are actively deployed in locations around the world, maintaining hulls free of biofouling, reducing fuel use and cutting emissions.
United by a shared ambition to create environmental impact on a global scale, we move fast and solve complex technical challenges together.
If you want to work on real robotic solutions with measurable impact, solving one of the world's biggest environmental challenges, Hullbot is the place to do it.
The Role
Hullbot is growing fast, and we need a dedicated IT Administrator to own the day-to-day technology that keeps our team moving.
We operate in a fast-paced, lively, and friendly startup environment packed with incredible technology. If you're passionate about tech, this is an incredible place to work-you’ll be surrounded by autonomous underwater robots, robotic arms, advanced 3D printers, and upcoming CNC machinery.
As part of our Digital Systems team, you’ll work alongside experienced senior colleagues in a supportive setting where you can learn, collaborate, and build depth. You will become the primary point of contact for company-wide IT, supporting everything from everyday laptops and SaaS accounts to workshop test rigs and field equipment.
This is a true ownership role, not a narrow helpdesk queue. As Hullbot expands to new sites and larger teams, your scope will grow too, giving you real autonomy to implement better automation, refine our processes, and shape the future of IT at Hullbot.
What You'll Do
- Be the first point of contact for IT support across the company-triaging, resolving, and escalating requests to keep everyone unblocked.
- Manage hardware end-to-end: setup, imaging, asset tracking, repairs, and retirement for laptops, workstations, and mobile devices.
- Run our IT storeroom and inventory: keep stock organised, track hardware assignments, and manage spare parts and consumables.
- Own onboarding and offboarding for staff across hardware, accounts, and tool access.
- Handle day-to-day user accounts and permissions across Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, and Notion.
- Support office IT - Wi-Fi, meeting rooms, printers, and shared workstations.
- Keep basic IT documentation, runbooks, and asset records clear and up to date.
- What We'll Teach & Do Together:
- Managing endpoint security, MDM enrollment, OS patching, and disk encryption.
- Tracking SaaS software subscriptions and vendor renewal cycles.
- Assisting the senior team on deeper infrastructure work-servers, NAS, networking, and cloud systems as you build confidence.
What We're Looking For
- We care much more about passion, attitude, and problem-solving ability than formal certifications or years on a CV. If you have most of the qualities below, we’d love you to apply.
- Some hands-on IT experience - this could be an internship, helpdesk/support role, a home lab or a hobbyist project you’ve built.
- A genuine service mindset - you see helping a colleague with a tech issue as the core job, not an interruption.
- Confidence troubleshooting Windows, and a willingness to learn Linux (used extensively across our robots and servers).
- Passionate about networking and IT in general.
- Clear, patient communication - able to explain technical fixes in simple languages, and write helpful guides for others.
- Organised and methodical, with good follow-through on issues.
You'll Thrive Here If You...
- Like being the person who fixes things, and take real satisfaction in other people's work going smoothly
- Take pride in the craft of IT administration - a clean asset register and a tidy access list are quietly satisfying
- Would rather document or automate a problem away than solve it the same way five times
- Are curious about how systems actually work, not just which button resolves the ticket
- Are comfortable in an evolving startup environment where you can help shape processes.
- Care about ocean health and want your work to contribute to something with real environmental impact
