Job summary

eShepherd is hiring an IoT Engineer to design and build connected technology for agriculture. You’ll connect devices, data and applications, spanning device connectivity, embedded tech, cloud platforms and APIs to create secure, scalable solutions.

You’ll work across hardware and software, implement protocols like MQTT/LoRaWAN, and help ensure performance and reliability in real-world deployments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing and developing IoT applications from concept through deployment.
• Strong programming in Python, C, JavaScript or Bash.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end IoT solutions connecting devices, data, cloud services and APIs.
• Work with hardware and software engineers to integrate IoT components into products.
• Build secure, scalable IoT architectures.
• Implement IoT communication protocols and standards.
• Develop data processing and analytics pipelines.
• Test, debug and troubleshoot complex IoT systems.
• Improve reliability and performance; explore new IoT technologies.
• Contribute to technical documentation and code reviews.
