eShepherd is expanding its CloudOps capabilities to design, build, and optimize scalable AWS infrastructure powering thousands of IoT devices. You will improve performance, reliability, and global scalability while shaping multi-region architecture in a fast-growing AgTech platform.
The role emphasizes automation, observability, and cross-functional collaboration with Melbourne engineering teams and North American stakeholders.
At eShepherd, we're building technology that's changing how livestock is managed around the world. Our virtual fencing platform combines solar-powered neckbands, cloud software and mobile technology to enable farmers to manage cattle without physical fences. What started as an ambitious AgTech innovation is now used across more than 10 countries and continues to scale rapidly throughout Australia, New Zealand, North America and beyond.
As our platform grows, so does the complexity behind it.
We're looking for a CloudOps Engineer to help build, scale and optimise the cloud infrastructure that powers thousands of connected devices operating in some of the world's most remote locations.
This is not a maintenance role. It's an opportunity to influence the architecture, reliability, performance and future scalability of a global IoT platform at an exciting stage of growth.
Every eShepherd neckband continuously streams data from the field to our cloud platform.
As customer adoption accelerates, we're expanding into new regions, supporting increasing device volumes and introducing new capabilities on top of the same foundation.
You’ll work closely with our software engineers, cloud specialists and product teams across Melbourne and Hamilton while playing a critical role in supporting our growing North American business.
This is a highly autonomous role where you'll uncover problems, challenge assumptions, bring evidence and help define the solution.
We're looking for someone who is curious, practical and enjoys solving difficult technical challenges.
You’ll see the real-world impact of what you build, from remote stations in Australia to ranches across North America.
This role plays an important part in supporting our growing North American customer base.
To ensure strong coverage during US business hours, work outside traditional Australian business hours is a core component of this role. We recognise this commitment and offer compensation that reflects the additional flexibility and coverage responsibilities required.
We know exceptional engineers have options, so we invest in creating an environment where great people can do meaningful work, grow their careers and enjoy the journey along the way.
Develop systems that directly support farmers, livestock operations and animal welfare outcomes across the globe.
Work across AWS, IoT, distributed systems, reliability, cloud architecture and platform scalability.
Influence technology used across Australia, New Zealand, North America and beyond.
Join a passionate team of engineers, product specialists and innovators who care deeply about what they build and the customers they serve.
If you're excited by cloud infrastructure, platform engineering and building technology that makes a real-world difference, we'd love to hear from you.
