Job summary

eShepherd is seeking an IoT Engineer to design and implement connected solutions spanning device connectivity, data pipelines, cloud services and APIs. The role involves collaborating with hardware and software teams to deliver secure, scalable IoT systems from concept through deployment.

You will work across device connectivity, embedded tech, cloud platforms, and data processing, helping solve complex IoT problems and improve system reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Proven IoT development experience spanning device, data and cloud integration.
• Experience designing and building end-to-end IoT solutions.
• Strong programming in Python, C, JavaScript or Bash.
• Knowledge of MQTT, CoAP, LoRaWAN and edge computing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud).
• Strong Linux skills and security awareness.
• Knowledge of networking and data encryption.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end IoT solutions connecting devices, data, cloud services and APIs.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate IoT components into products.
• Build secure, scalable IoT architectures.
• Implement IoT communication protocols and standards.
• Develop data processing and analytics pipelines.
• Test, debug and troubleshoot complex IoT systems.
• Help improve reliability and performance.
• Evaluate new hardware, software and emerging IoT technologies.
• Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews and knowledge sharing.
