Job summary

Alsco Uniforms is seeking a Purchasing Officer in Sydney area to manage inventory, procurement, supplier relationships, and order/shipping coordination. The role aims to reduce stockouts and improve DIFOT by continuously analyzing stock on hand, sales trends, open orders, and supplier lead times.

You will coordinate with freight providers, prepare documentation, ensure ISO9001:2015 compliance, and drive process improvements while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• The Purchasing Officer role manages inventory, procurement, supplier relationships, order and shipping coordination, and quality assurance.
• The role focus is to reduce stock outs & improve DIFOT by maintaining inventory levels to meet demand through analyzing stock on hand, sales trends, open orders, and supplier lead times.

Responsibilities

• Inventory and Procurement: monitor stock, raise purchase orders, maintain inventory systems, report supply chain performance, resolve stock and supplier issues, inspect imported products.
• Shipping and Suppliers: manage orders through delivery, coordinate with freight and logistics providers, prepare shipping docs, support customs clearance, maintain supplier data and product specs.
• Quality, Strategy, and Safety: inspect inbound goods within 48 hours, address non-conformances, maintain ISO9001:2015 compliance, support audits, implement improvements, assist strategy execution, follow safety requirements.
• Working Arrangements and Profile: limited after-hours contact, internal and external relationships across purchasing, sales, admin, warehousing, customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and logistics; requires purchasing or equivalent experience, strong analysis, negotiation, risk management, financial, planning, process, and relationship-building skills.
