Job summary

BlueScope is seeking two Inventory Controllers for its Paint Line Operations in Hastings, VIC. Based in a fast-paced 24x7 manufacturing setting, you will coordinate inventory flow, maintain stock visibility and support delivery commitments across production, despatch and CSC.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory control, supply chain, warehousing, logistics or manufacturing operations.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience using inventory/warehouse management systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining inventory accuracy and traceability.
• Strong communication and influencing skills to work across operational teams.
• Sound problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Commitment to safety and wellbeing of yourself and others.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing, steel processing, logistics or warehouse operations is highly regarded; knowledge of inventory management platforms is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritise inventory movements across interdepartmental transfers to support production and despatch requirements.
• Maintain visibility of stock availability, inventory status and storage capacity to optimise flow of material throughout the operation.
• Set priorities and plan activities to meet despatch and customer requirements.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and coil traceability through system transactions, audits and physical verification.
• Coordinate management of surplus, downgraded, returned and rectification stock to maximise inventory utilisation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve inventory-related issues and minimise disruption.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and support resolution of stock-related issues affecting production or delivery.
• Support inventory investigations, ensuring containment and escalation as needed.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve inventory visibility, stock flow, communication and operational effectiveness.
• Obtain and maintain accreditations and competencies, providing hands-on support and covering as flexible labour when required.
