Job summary

BlueScope Steel is seeking a Shift Coordinator for the Acacia Ridge Manufacturing facility in Queensland. You will lead a 20-person team, coordinating production with the manufacturing team to deliver reliable steel products for Queensland customers.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency and continuous improvement, with opportunities for training and career development within a permanent full-time position.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and coordinating manufacturing operations as a supervisor or shift coordinator.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and change-management skills.
• Ability to manage a team of 20 and liaise with manufacturing teams.

• Customer-focused mindset with ability to handle ambiguity and change.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.

The Opportunity

OurProcessing and Logisticsteam are looking for a Shift Coordinator to join the team based at our Acacia Ridge Manufacturing facility. Orrcon Steel Distribution is a leading Australian supplier of steel and aluminium products, offering a comprehensive range engineered to meet the demands of diverse industries. Our products are backed by strong technical expertise, full traceability, and stringent quality standards. Supported by strategic supplier partnerships and a nationwide network of distribution centres, we ensure consistent availability, reliable performance, and dependable supply for customers across Australia.

Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, you will lead a team of 20 team members working with the manufacturing team to deliver exceptional outcomes for our QLD Customers. In this fast-paced site that handles over 500,000 tonnes of steel per year, you will have direct impact on the delivery performance of BlueScope Australian Steel Products.

What Will You Do?

The role will see you:

• leading and supervisingour operations area including product scheduling, machine operation and maintenance
• supporting and assisting your team with daily operations
• identifyingopportunities to improve efficiency, performance and mitigate risk - striving for on time delivery for our customers
• ensuring safety standards are continuously evolving, championing change when risks and opportunities are identified
• growing and mentoring your team to develop their technical capability
