Job summary

BlueScope Steel Limited in Hastings, VIC is seeking 2 Inventory Controllers to join the Paint Line Operations team. You will coordinate inventory priorities, ensure stock visibility and accuracy, and support production continuity across the Paint Lines and CSC.

This rotating day/afternoon roster (Mon–Thu 6:30am–11:30pm, Fri 6:30am–2:30pm) suits collaborative problem solvers with warehousing experience. You’ll work with production, despatch and supply chain to optimise stock flow and meet

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory control, supply chain, warehousing or manufacturing operations.
• Strong planning and organisational skills to manage competing priorities.
• Experience using inventory/warehouse management systems.
• Attention to detail and inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritise inventory movements across interdepartmental transfers to support production and despatch requirements.
• Maintain visibility of stock availability, inventory status and storage capacity to optimise flow of material throughout the operation.
• Set priorities and plan activities to meet despatch and customer requirements.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and coil traceability through effective stock management, system transactions, audits and physical verification activities.
• Coordinate the management of surplus, downgraded, returned and rectification stock to maximise inventory utilisation and operational efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with cross functional departments to resolve inventory-related issues and minimise operational disruption.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and support the resolution of stock-related issues that impact production or customer delivery performance.
• Support inventory investigations, ensuring appropriate containment and escalating issues.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve inventory visibility, stock flow, communication and operational effectiveness.
• Obtain and maintain accreditations and competencies, providing hands-on support, and covering as flexible labour when required.
