Job summary

The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service is seeking an Interpreter Services Coordinator for Cairns Hospital. This role collaborates with community partners and clinicians to ensure a responsive Interpreter Service that meets patient and staff needs.

You will handle enquiries, resolve issues, review interpreter service billing, and drive rollout and training within the health service to increase uptake and awareness.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with community partners and providers to ensure provision of an Interpreter Service that meets the needs of Clinicians and Consumers.
• Use effective communication and conflict resolution skills to respond to consumer enquiries and problem solve accordingly, investigate complaints and recommend solutions.
• Review and audit accounts for Interpreter Service payments for invoices received from provider companies to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Promote the rollout and provide training for Interpreter Services to Directorates within the HHS to ensure effective use and ongoing improved awareness and uptake by clinicians of the service.
