Fuse Recruitment is seeking an Interim Payroll Lead to manage end-to-end payroll for a large organisation in Perth on a 3-month contract. You will oversee weekly, fortnightly and monthly cycles with hands-on responsibility and immediate start.

The role requires strong experience with SAP and Workday, expertise in payroll legislation and compliance, and the ability to resolve enquiries quickly in a high-volume environment. Potential for extension or permanent role based on performance.

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll processing across weekly, fortnightly and monthly cycles.
• Proficient with SAP and Workday systems.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards, taxation and compliance.
• Ability to respond to employee enquiries professionally and resolve issues quickly.
• Immediate availability or 1–2 weeks’ notice.
• Experience in high-volume payroll environments.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of payroll processing for all employee types, including starters, variances, leave and terminations.
• Manage superannuation, salary sacrifice, employee contributions and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and taxation obligations.
• Perform payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end reporting and maintain payroll records.

• Take ownership of payroll processing for all employee types, including new starters, variances, leave, terminations, and payroll adjustments
• Manage superannuation, salary sacrifice, employee contributions, and deductions accurately
• Ensure compliance with Payroll and Award legislation, including taxation obligations like PAYG withholding and Payroll Tax
• Perform payroll reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve employee enquiries promptly
• Maintain comprehensive payroll records and support month-end and year-end reporting processes

Requirements:

• Proven experience with end-to-end payroll processing in weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay cycles
• Strong working knowledge of SAP and Workday systems
• Sound understanding of payroll legislation, awards, taxation, and compliance requirements
• Ability to respond to employee queries professionally and resolve issues quickly
• Immediate availability or able to start within 1-2 weeks
• Experience managing high-volume payroll environments is essential
