Job summary

A leading consulting firm is seeking a Principal Consultant in Canberra to focus on UI/UX design for technology professionals. This mid-senior level position involves creating user interactions, evaluating design options, and leading design thinking workshops. Appropriate qualifications and hands-on experience in UI/UX are essential. The role offers a contract position with a hybrid work model, starting in March with a minimum baseline clearance required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Selection of appropriate tools, methods and design patterns to design user interactions with and experiences of a product, system or service.
• Translation of concepts into outputs and prototypes and capture of user feedback or evaluation to improve designs.
• Evaluation of alternative design options and recommending designs taking into account performance, security, usability and accessibility requirements.
• Interprets and follows visual design and branding guidelines to create a consistent and impactful user experience.

• Demonstrated extensive experience creating end-to-end user journey / experience maps across different products, processes, or services.
• Ability to run user experience designer lab.
• Experience interpreting NPS (Net Promoter Score) or other customer satisfaction surveys.
• Experience facilitating user-centred design and design thinking workshops.
• Experience working in an Agile delivery team.
• Ability to evaluate alternative design options and recommend designs taking into account performance, security, usability and accessibility requirements.
