Job summary

The Royal Flying Doctor Service SA/NT is seeking an experienced Integration API Developer to join our Data Analytics team. You will design, develop, and support integration solutions connecting clinical, operational, and corporate systems across cloud and on-premises environments.

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable APIs and data pipelines, uphold data quality and security, and contribute to continuous improvement and technology innovation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience delivering API and system integration solutions in complex environments.
• Strong programming and database skills with Java, SQL, .NET, or PL/SQL.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON, and FHIR integration patterns.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and SDLC.
• Experience with source control, testing, deployment, containerisation, and CI/CD.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as OCI, Azure or AWS is desirable.
• Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR is desirable.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering API and system integration solutions in complex environments
• Strong programming and database skills, including experience with Java, SQL, .NET, PL/SQL, or similar technologies
• Experience working with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON, FHIR, and event-driven integration patterns
• Knowledge of modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience with source control, testing, deployment, containerisation, and CI/CD processes
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
• A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
• Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms (desirable)
• Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR (desirable)
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (desirable)
