CatholicCare NT provides counselling and case management for people who use substances and have co-occurring mental health needs, delivering services designed to reduce barriers to accessing care. It emphasizes harm-minimisation and wellbeing, serving diverse communities in the Northern Territory.

The role focuses on supporting those facing barriers to mental health treatment, with an emphasis on cultural safety and evidence-based interventions within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in mental health and substance use, social work, psychology or other relevant field.
• Experience facilitating groups and community engagement activities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including case management, case note writing, report writing, and case plan development.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based counselling and case management for people with co-occurring substance use and mental health needs.
• Support participants facing barriers to accessing mental health treatment due to substance use.
• Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people from diverse backgrounds.
