AusNet Services Ltd. is seeking an Installation Support Specialist – Renewables Integration to provide expert technical support to Victoria's solar and battery installers.

You will handle real-time phone support, investigate issues, and guide customers through connection requirements, commissioning, interoperability and compliance. The role is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time position based in Southbank, Melbourne, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert, providing coaching and troubleshooting to build team capability.
• Collaborate with installers and internal teams to resolve issues and improve outcomes.
• Identify process improvements and support service quality and compliance targets.

As an Installation Support Specialist – Renewables Integration, you'll provide specialist technical support to Victoria's solar and battery industry, helping installers navigate connection requirements, commissioning, interoperability and compliance obligations.

You'll provide real-time phone support, investigate technical issues, respond to installer enquiries, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support successful connections and positive customer outcomes. You'll also contribute to knowledge sharing, team capability uplift and the continuous improvement of AusNet's renewable energy services.

This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time role based in Southbank, Melbourne, with a hybrid work arrangement, and sits within our Customer & Community team in the Distribution business. For the right candidate, this role may present longer-term opportunities within AusNet as we continue to grow and evolve our renewable energy capabilities.

Whatyou’llbe doing in this role:

• Provide expert support to solar and battery installers via phone and case management channels, delivering accurate and timely advice on connection, commissioning, testing and compliance requirements
• Investigate and resolve complex enquiries relating to applications, system registration, commissioning, connectivity and dynamic operating requirements
• Manage cases from initial enquiry through to resolution, ensuring clear communication, accurate records and effective stakeholder engagement
• Act as a subject matter expert within the team, providing coaching, guidance and troubleshooting support to build capability
• Collaborate with installers, industry stakeholders and internal teams to resolve issues, identify recurring challenges and improve outcomes
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process and system enhancements, maintaining specialist knowledge and supporting service, quality and compliance targets

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

• Experience working with solar installers, designers, OEMs, aggregators, renewable energy manufacturers or electricity distributors, highly regarded
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and practical way
• Knowledge of solar and battery connection processes, commissioning requirements and industry standards, including AS/NZS 4777 and CSIP-AUS
• A sound understanding of renewable energy technologies, distributed energy resources and electricity distribution networks
• Knowledge of Victorian connection requirements, including dynamic exports and Solar Emergency Backstop requirements
• Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment, managing competing priorities and maintaining attention to detail across high-volume administrative and desktop-based tasks using systems such as Salesforce
• Strong team mindset, with a willingness to support and encourage colleagues, share knowledge, contribute to a positive team culture, and participate in rostered support coverage
