Job summary

Steelcraft Group currently seeks an Install Supervisor (Steel Framing) to step up from the tools and lead residential framing sites across South-East Queensland. You will audit sites, coach crews, and ensure frames are installed safely to our standards, engaging with builders and the installation coordinator to keep jobs on track.

You’ll bring a solid carpentry background, read plans confidently, and maintain site safety and quality while enjoying a real wage and regular pay in a full‑time role.

Qualifications

• Must have carpentry trade experience with residential framing know‑how.
• Able to read plans and identify issues before they become on‑site callbacks.
• White Card and current driver’s licence required; QBCC Site Supervisor licence is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Visit and audit active install sites in Brisbane region and surrounding areas.
• Ensure frames installed to plan and quality standards; identify site issues early.
• Lead install crews on site and coach them to the standard.
• Coordinate with builders, installation coordinator, and crews to ensure sites are ready before frames land.
• Ensure contractors follow safety guidelines and SWMS; drive rectification as needed.
• Be the Steelcraft face to the builder’s supervisor on site and report progress to the office.

Step off the tools without leaving the trade behind

You know residential framing inside out, whether you came up through carpentry, led a crew on site, or ran your own building business and are now after a change.

What you may be looking for now is the next step: less wear and tear on the body, no quoting late at night, and no chasing payment on work completed. This is a genuine progression into supervision, without taking on the entire build and every trade on site.

Steelcraft Group is a steel framing manufacturer and installer. We make the frames and we install them, one trade, one scope. No coordinating concreters & plasterers, no chasing suppliers, and no dealing with homeowners.

Your job is to make sure every frame goes up safely, accurately and to the standard we have built our name on.

What you will actually do

• Visit and audit active install sites in your allocated region (Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Redlands & Gold Coast)


• Check frames are installed to plan and to our quality standard, and pick up any site issues first


• Work alongside our install crews, set the standard and coach them on it


• Work with builder supervisors, our installation coordinator and the crews to confirm sites are ready before frames land, so nobody turns up to a job that cannot start


• Check our installation contractors are installing to our guidelines, working to their SWMS and keeping a safe site. Practical compliance, not paperwork for its own sake


• Get the tools out for rectification and maintenance work when a job needs fixing on the spot


• Be the Steelcraft face to the builder's supervisor on site


• Report progress and issues back to the office so they get solved, not sat on

Some weeks you are inspecting and coaching. Some weeks you are may be working onsite to sort a rectification. If you want a scheduling-only role, this is not it.

What you need

• Carpentry trade background with solid residential framing experience


• Able to read plans and pick up a problem before it becomes a callback


• White card and current driver's licence


• Straight talker who can hold a crew to a standard


• Steel framing experience is a bonus, not a requirement, we will teach you the fundamentals of steel framing


• QBCC Site Supervisor licence an advantage
