Job summary

The Injury Management (IM) team within the Department of Health Tasmania provides high level advice and partners with DoH business units to manage workers’ compensation, injury management and return to work activities.

This fixed term, full-time role requires sound WHS knowledge, strong communication with stakeholders, and the ability to navigate the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 and related legislation.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of contemporary WHS including wellbeing and injury management practices.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation (Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988; WHS Act 2012).
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to negotiate with managers, employees and represented parties.

Responsibilities

• Case management of workers' compensation claims.
• Facilitate and coordinate return to work programs.
• Provide high level advice to managers and employees on injury management issues.
• Hold the dual role of Return to Work Coordinator as per the Act.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory environment affecting worker’s compensation, WHS and employment within the Agency.
