Job summary

Portland District Health in Portland, Victoria, is seeking an experienced Injury Management / Return to Work Coordinator for an ongoing part-time role (48 hours per fortnight). Available from 9 November 2026, you will coordinate injuries and workers' compensation matters, advise managers on suitable duties and workplace adjustments, and support a safe, timely return to work.

You’ll bring qualifications in injury management, OH&S and return-to-work, with training such as Return to Work Accredited

Qualifications

• Injury management, rehabilitation, occupational health and workers' compensation experience.
• Understanding of return-to-work principles and legislation.
• Willing to obtain Return To Work Coordination certificate within 3 months; public health/hospital experience desirable.

INJURY MANAGEMENT / RETURN TO WORK COORDINATOR

Ongoing Part Time – 48 hours per fortnight

Available from 9th November 2026

An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified candidate to join the Human Resources team at Portland District Health.

The Injury Management / Return to Work Coordinator is responsible for the effective coordination and management of employee workplace injuries, illnesses and associated workers' compensation matters for Portland District Health.

The coordinator will: help ensure a proactive injury prevention and early intervention approach and will provide advice to managers on suitable duties, workplace adjustments, rehabilitation and the management of workplace injuries and illness; support employees who are injured or become unwell to achieve a safe, timely and sustainable return to work. The role involves consideration of the needs of the employee, treating practitioners, managers, the organisation, WorkSafe Victoria, the insurer, and related stakeholders; and provide practical, accessible and employee-centred injury management for the Portland District Health workforce.

About you:

• Relevant qualification and/or substantial experience in injury management, rehabilitation, occupational health, workers' compensation and return-to-work coordination.
• Return to Work Accredited WorkSafe Training
• Demonstrated knowledge of workers' compensation, rehabilitation, OH&S and return-to-work principles and legislation.
• Return To Work Coordination certificate, or commitment to obtain the certificate in the first three months of employment
• Experience working within a public health service or hospital environment - desirable
• Experience developing injury management reports and dashboards - desirable
