Job summary

Direct Freight Express Pty in Warwick Farm, Sydney NSW, is seeking an experienced Injury Management Officer to join our team. You will develop and implement health, safety and wellbeing initiatives, oversee workers compensation claims, coordinate injury management activities and support effective return-to-work programs.

The role requires strong WHS knowledge, stakeholder relationship skills and a proactive, analytical mindset to drive continuous improvement across our nationwide logistics

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Work Health and Safety, Injury Management or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 4 year of experience in a safety, injury management or claim management role within a logistic, freight environment or similar
• Sound knowledge of workers compensation claim and injury management
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, logical problem-solving abilities, a continuous improvement mindset, and a strong track record of teamwork and cross-departmental cooperation
• Proactive, analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Responsibilities

• Lead, monitor and take responsibility for providing overall leadership, management and direction to all areas involved with Workers Compensation and Injury Management along with providing advice, guidance and support to Direct Freight site leaders as a subject matter expert
• Manage compensation claim performance and progress with all stakeholders
• Implement workers compensation strategies across the respective sites
• Develop training requirements with an underpinning knowledge and skill to implement workers compensation strategies;
• Implement workers compensation budgeting and forecasting for all Sites;
• Implement and assist with the development of service level agreements with Insurers and Brokers, manage insurer relationships and ensure service levels are achieved;
• Instigate and conduct monthly claims meetings with Insurers and Insurance Brokers;

Position: Injury Management Officer
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: Warwick Farm, Sydney NSW
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Injury Management Officer to join our team at Warwick Farm.

In this role, you will play a key part in developing, implementing and reviewing health, safety and wellbeing initiatives that promote a safe and healthy working environment for all employees. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will oversee worker’s compensation claims, coordinate injury management activities and support effective return-to-work programs.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) and workers compensation legislation, along with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and drive continuous improvement across our national operations.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
