Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD in Mackay, Queensland, seeks a Project Engagement Advisor to support major road and transport infrastructure delivery through strategic communication and stakeholder engagement.

You will work with project managers, engineers and leaders to inform, engage and support communities and decision-makers across Central Queensland, helping to protect and enhance the department's reputation while supporting QTRIP outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience providing strategic communication and stakeholder engagement guidance.
• Ability to coordinate community consultations and manage issues.
• Proven track record building relationships with local communities and government.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic communication and stakeholder engagement advice to project teams and leadership.
• Develop and deliver communication and engagement strategies for infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate community consultation activities, events and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
• Prepare project communications, media responses, briefing notes and executive correspondence.
• Build productive relationships with community members and government representatives.
• Identify and manage emerging issues affecting project delivery and reputation.
• Support a customer-focused culture and contribute to continuous improvement.
