Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD in Mackay (QLD) is seeking Program Engagement Officers to support delivery of major transport and road infrastructure programs in Central Queensland. You will develop engagement plans, create content, and liaise with communities, stakeholders and project teams in Mackay or Rockhampton.

The role focuses on informing and engaging communities, preparing ministerial briefings, and contributing to media materials and campaigns.

Qualifications

Strong written communication and content development skills.
Experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, customer relations or a related field.
Ability to analyse information and prepare clear, concise correspondence and briefing material.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement communication and community engagement plans for infrastructure projects.
Create clear, accurate and engaging content including newsletters, flyers, roadworks notifications, digital content and stakeholder communications.
Research and prepare ministerial briefings, executive correspondence and responses to community enquiries.
Support public consultation activities and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Prepare media materials and contribute to social media and communication campaigns.
Build and maintain productive relationships with community members, project teams, local organisations, elected representatives and other stakeholders.
